Delivery & Installation

How does delivery and installation work?

Your cottage arrives on a truck. Here's what happens next — from getting it onto your block to connecting power and water.

1

Site Preparation

Your site must be prepared before delivery — including clearing, levelling, and ensuring adequate access for a large vehicle.

You need to: Confirm site is cleared, levelled and accessible

2

Transport Access

The cottage is transported on a truck-mounted trailer. Access must accommodate the vehicle size, turning radius, overhead clearances, and weight limits.

You need to: Check road conditions, overhead lines, gates and turning areas

3

Lifting & Unfolding

The cottage is lifted into position by crane and unfolded on site. A crane lift area must be available adjacent to the placement position.

You need to: Ensure crane access and a clear lift zone

4

Foundations

The cottage is secured to site-specific foundations — concrete pads, screw piles, or stumps depending on soil conditions and engineering requirements.

You need to: Foundations prepared per engineering specs (arranged by us or your builder)

5

Connections

Water, waste, power, and stormwater connections are made by licensed trades. This connects the cottage's internal systems to your site services.

You need to: Ensure services are available at the connection points

6

Inspections

Required inspections are carried out at key stages — foundations, frame, connections, and final — by your building surveyor or council.

You need to: Coordinate inspection timing with your surveyor

7

Practical Completion

Final checks are completed, any defects are rectified, and the cottage is handed over ready for use (subject to occupancy approval).

You need to: Complete practical completion checklist and sign-off

Important: Failed delivery attempts or demurrage costs arising from inadequate site preparation or inaccessibility are payable by the customer. Please ensure your site is fully prepared before the scheduled delivery date.
