BPA is a pathway, not a guarantee. Here's what it doesn't mean.
A BPA cottage is designed and documented to support an application for approval as a Class 1a building. A building permit is not included merely because a cottage is described as BPA. Approval remains subject to the property, proposed use, planning controls, site conditions, engineering, energy requirements and the decision of the relevant authorities and building surveyor.
This page provides general information about the pathway commonly followed in Victoria. Requirements vary by property, local government area, building classification and proposed use. Obtain site-specific advice before making financial commitments.
